Sayuri


Sayuri was born and raised in Gunma, Japan and came to the USA for college. Sayuri is a stay at home mom and also maintains a piano studio. Sayuri enjoys cooking and taking care of her family. Our son Yves is a happy healthy 2-year old.

Professional Profile:

A native of Gunma, Japan, Sayuri started studying piano at the age of 6, and Saxophone at the age of 13. She came to the United States in 1998 to study music at Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Performance in 2002. During her undergraduate study, she became interested in piano pedagogy and started teaching as part of preparatory division as a student teacher. She entered Butler University in 2003 to purse her graduate study in piano pedagogy. She served as the keyboard skills graduate assistant for two years during her study and taught the keyboard classes for freshman and sophomore classes. She is trained in both private and group teaching. She has taught private and group lessons with Indianapolis Piano Academy, Butler Community Arts School and Butler piano summer camp, Midwest school of music, Meridian Music and Ji-Eun Lee music academy. Sayuri is currently president of the Indianapolis Piano Teachers Association.
